Vision Therapy Q & A

It's different for everyone because Dr. Jones customizes vision therapy for you or your child's needs. During vision therapy sessions, you or your child will perform vision exercises and use state-of-the-art equipment to improve eye focus, movement, coordination, and perception. Through these therapy sessions, your vision problems and related issues will self-correct.

Dr. Jones supervises vision therapy to make sure that patients get the most effective treatment and optimal results. After vision therapy, you or your child will be better positioned to succeed in school, work, and social life.

The following signs might indicate that you or your child could need vision therapy.

  • Frequent head tilting
  • Holding a book very close when reading
  • Using a finger to mark your place when reading
  • Covering one eye (or squinting an eye shut) to read
  • Poor hand-eye coordination
  • Frequently bumping into things
  • Frequently dropping objects
  • Reversing words when reading
  • Transposing numbers
  • Headaches

Usually, patients have 1-2 vision therapy sessions weekly, with each session lasting an hour or less. Sometimes, Dr. Jones gives vision therapy homework, which are exercises to do every day at home.
